Assessment of knowledge
levels within an organisation - STATS may be used within
an organisation to determine staff knowledge levels to help
determine staff training requirements. This is applicable to
IT departments involved in SAN deployment as well as
engineering departments involved in the development of SAN
components and products.
Interview candidate selection assistance: - Tests
given to interviewees at the instigation of the interviewer
to aid in the recruitment process. The benefit provided to
the organisation is a low cost method of checking a
candidate knowledge levels at the point of interview. In
some cases the necessary knowledge may not be available
in-house to conduct detailed technical checking of candidate
knowledge.
Pre training and post
training assessment - test the levels of knowledge
before a scheduled training class and test again when
training is completed to assess the effectiveness of the
training.
SNIA certification
pre-test - this enable a candidate who wishes to obtain
SNIA certification to take practice test prior to taking the
formal Certification Test. The benefit provided is
significantly lower cost using STATS than taking the formal
SNIA test and failing. Passing the appropriate STATS test
should provide a high probability that the candidate will
pass the SNIA certification test.
